This movie was awesome sauce. I am so thankful for the success of movies like this, the Fantasic4, and the XMen franchise I can almost forgive marvel for the atrocities of the Punisher, Captain America and OMG BayWatch Nick Fury movies.

I have to admit I wasn't a huge IronMan fan but I did know just a little about him. I think the movie did a good job in giving little nods here and there to the history while making it all very accessible to the (paying) masses.

I have to agree. Iron Man was a great movie - almost on par with the first Spider-Man for following continuity. Of course, there were some changes, history was reaaranged, and everything was updated to better click with the modern audience. The armor design was also along the lines of the modern comics which is understandable from a merchandising point of view. Overall I give this movie 5 stars, and I hope Marvel movies of this quality continue. Being an Iron Man fan for many years (started with the beautiful Bob Layton covers in the late 1970s), I'm very happy they gave the character decent treatment.
